Jeýms Hewlett (fl. 1821 - 1849) afroamerikaly aktýordy. Nýu-Ýork şäherindäki Wilýam Aleksandr Braunyň Afrika Grove teatrynda baş aktýor we bilelikde dörediji.[1][2][3][4]

Hewlett aýdymçy hökmünde çykyş edip başlady we Braun çaý bagynda geçirilen sergi bolanda Afrika bagynda "Şekspiriň buýsançly wekili" hökmünde häsiýetlendirilen aktýor hökmünde çykyş edip başlady. Hewlett, Afrika Growyň Riçard III -iň çykyşynda baş keşbi bilen meşhurdyr. [5] Teatr ýapylandan soň, oýunlardan parçalary ýerine ýetirip başlady; taryhçy Şane Waýt Hewlettiň 1831-nji ýylda "iň meşhur gara Nýu-Ýorkly" bolmagynyň mümkindigini öňe sürýär. [6] Karýerasy, 1834-nji ýylda we gizlinlikde tussag edilenden soň pese gaçana meňzeýär. 1849-njy ýylda ölendigi aýdylýar.[7]

Teatryň taryhyny öwrenen Jorj Tompson, Hewlettiň tikinçi we Günbatar Hindistandan göçüp gelen bolmagy mümkin diýen netijä geldi.[8]
